William Dyer
William Dyer was born in Atlanta, Georgia on the 11th of March, 1881 and would go on to become a prolific supporting actor of silent cinema and the early talkies.
Appearing in 83 films throughout his career, he gave a memorable yet uncredited performance as the unflinching gravedigger in the opening scenes of Universal’s 1931 production of Frankenstein. He died on the 22nd of December, 1933, in Hollywood, California, aged just 52.
