Philip Martell
Born in Whitechapel, London on the 6th of October, 1907, Philip Martell studied at the Guildhall School of Music.
He joined Hammer in 1954 and, upon the 1963 death of previous incumbent John Hollingsworth, became musical director, working on many of the studio’s movies, from The Nanny (1965) to Prehistoric Women (1967) and Dracula Has Risen From the Grave (1968), as well as composing a handful of scores including The Anniversary (1968). He died on the 11th of August, 1993.
