Andre de Toth
Director André de Toth was born Sâsvári Farkasfalvi Tóthfalusi Tóth Endre Antal Mihály on 15th May, 1912 in Makó, Csanád, Hungary.
He is famous to monster fans for directing the 1953 3-D version of House of Wax, despite being unable to see in 3-D himself, having lost an eye at an early age. Although de Toth is best known for his edgy B western and crime movies, House of Wax was the earliest and most successful 3-D film, even by today’s standards in relative terms.
