Black Cat, The (Universal 1941)
Universal’s 1941 film, The Black Cat, was released on 2nd May 1941.
Having nothing to do with the 1934 Karloff / Lugosi film of the same name, it relied heavily on comic relief, taking much of its inspiration from James Whale’s The Old Dark House (1932). Starring Basil Rathbone, the film also featured Bela Lugosi and Alan Ladd in small supporting roles.
