She (Hammer 1965)

Hammer’s She, adapted from the novel by H Rider Haggard, was released on 18th April, 1965.

Starring Ursula Andress, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Bernard Cribbins, the films tells the story of Ayesha, ’She who must be obeyed’, the immortal queen and high priestess who rules over the lost city of Kuma in north-east Africa. A huge international success, the production led to a sequel, The Vengeance of She, three years later.
