• Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) – A second spaceship arrives, and its sole survivor is soon caught between the warlike gorilla general Ursus and a hidden, bomb-worshipping cult.
• Escape From the Planet of the Apes (1971) – Relocating the action to present-day California, this instalment swaps spectacle for social satire as the visiting chimps become media darlings with a dangerous secret.
• Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) – A grittier, more urgent sequel in which the apes of the future stage their rebellion against their human masters in a striking concrete cityscape.
