Ultra-rare misprint, and you’ll help a charity.

Product Description

The ultra-rare Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide Abomination Edition magazine has a one-off manufacturing quirk that gives it a reversed cover, making it a true collector’s item. Every sale of this guide will help the Chernobyl Heart charity which Classic Monsters editor and assistant editor Nige Burton and Jamie Jones founded in 2010, saving lives at the Gomel Children’s Hospital in Belarus. Every penny the charity receives goes directly to help save the lives of dying children, as Nige and Jamie pay for all admin costs out of their own pockets.

PLEASE NOTE: the inner content is identical to the regular Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide; the only difference is the reversed cover.

The Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide Abomination Edition evokes the brochure you might have bought at the cinema in 1931, had it been misprinted.

There are only 22 copies of this item in the world as the printers stopped production as soon as they realised something wasn’t quite right.

An intriguing and ultra-rare addition to your Frankenstein movie memorabilia collection, the Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide Abomination Edition features the same classic content, a wealth of informative articles, trivia and biographies but in a strange twist of fate, the covers have been laminated and attached back to front.

Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide Abomination Edition

A manufacturing error during one of our reprint runs? Absolutely, but a very rare one indeed, somewhat like old postage stamps which are valuable because of a print flaw. In the case of the Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide Abomination Edition, the outside front and back covers are now on the inside of the cover sheet, while you’ll see the inside front and back covers gracing the outside of the magazine and enjoying rich gloss lamination for the first – and, indeed, only – time.

The content is otherwise the same, but if you’re looking for something a little unusual for your collection, this is it!

This beautiful Ultimate Guide magazine, a limited edition reprint of the second in the Classic Movie Monsters Collection, celebrates James Whale’s iconic 1931 production of Frankenstein, the film which catapulted Boris Karloff to international stardom overnight. Called simply Frankenstein 1931, it is beautifully written and illustrated with a wealth of stills and posters. This beautiful and unique publication is printed in rich full colour throughout – lending even black and white images a depth that’s hard to match – while the cover features a glorious gloss finish.

Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide

Author and horror film historian Nige Burton traces the film’s shaky beginnings through to the cinematic masterpiece it became, looking at the source material and various stage and screen adaptations which led to the Frankenstein we know and love. Within these lovingly designed pages you’ll discover the backstory behind one of horror cinema’s all-time icons, as well as the diverse and often tragic histories of its key cast and crew members.

Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide

This luxurious Frankenstein magazine guide is packed with beautifully restored stills, posters and artwork. Each page bursts with information, facts and trivia, bringing the story of this legendary horror movie to life and giving you a greater understanding of how Mary Shelley’s powerful story became one of the most beloved cinematic events of all time.

Frankenstein 1931 Ultimate Guide

Throughout the guide you’ll discover biographies of key cast and crew members, each of which offers further detail on the way the movie took shape on the screen. This Frankenstein magazine guide really is the perfect reference guide for any fan of Boris Karloff’s seminal performance.
